Matundas Gold Project

The Matundas gold project is located in Western Tanzania in the Chunya District of the Lupa gold field. The  Mantundo project comprises 7 Primary Mining Licences

First pass pitting and trench sampling in currently underway.  Initial recovered free gold results from mini bulk samples are encouraging. Gold mineralisation is known from extensive artisanal surface pitting and UG mining to 18m vertical. More recent surficial activities by artisans chasing nuggets 1-2oz size in black soil horizon within the upper most black soils where coarse gold nuggets overlying the gravels.

The target horizon is an extensive sheet of alluvial/colluvial material in gravels and lag deposits underlying the black soils containing coarse visible gold grades 1-3g/t and a sub vertical north dipping quartz lode and stockwork zones grades up to 30g/t.

Resource delineation pitting and trenching underway on a 200m x 100m pattern extending away from the established artisanal sites. Initial results indicate a potential resource for alluvial/colluvial material of 1-2Mt @ 1-2g/t gravity recoverable gold for 30-60,000,000oz Au contained to a depth of 2-8 m with an average stripping ratio of 3:1

The pitting programme is to be followed by a bulk sample of 1,000t underway to determine recoverable gold grades from gravel material. A colluvial wash plant with 80tph capacity is envisaged targeting throughput of 250,000 tpa with gold production of 10,000oz pa. An initial bulk sample at Matundas of 1000t is scheduled to commence in April 2015.

Latest Activities! 31/03/15 MATUNDO GOLD PROJECT

The team are busy sampling at the Matundo gold prospect.the aim is to delneate gold mineralisation in an extensive sheet of near surface gravels. The gold is free and high grade and the intention is to setup a large wash plant later this year to recover the gold.
